If you already know the roots -- you don't need to use the quadratic formula.

Do you want to know the quadratic equation with those roots? It would be:

(x-2)*(x-5) = 0

x^2 - 7x + 10 = 0

A quadratic function with roots 2 and 5 would not require the quadratic formula to be solved.
