I'm not a liberal by the way. In fact, I'm conservative in every way, accept when it comes to the environment.

My question is: What can we do to improve our reputation and the improve the way that the world views us?
What exactly has he done right? Has the trillions of dollars of debt we're in somehow a good thing? How many allies will we have for our paper-thin armies spread out across the globe when nobody likes us. People already hate us in England (our one friend).

"Lots of people are beefing about the environment and doing nothing to improve it. What are YOU doing? Do YOU recycle glass, plastic, paper and metals? Do YOU turn off unused lights and appliances, and adjust the thermostat? Do YOU share the ride or use public transportation? Have YOU added insulation and storm windows? Do YOU drive an economical vehicle? That horrible George Bush has set up tax incentives to help YOU do some of these things. Bet you haven't done anything about it."
Yes. Yes. Sometimes. Yes. Yes. And my economical vewhical gets 38 mpg and is about 15,000 dollars. I'm glad Mr. Bush gives me 20 dollars a year towards getting a good car, but I could do without him.

It's not really depressing that George Bush is the worst President this country has ever had. Well, I mean, actually, that is pretty depressing, but that's not the most depressing part. The really depressing thing is that so many brainwashed voters (aka true believers) still believe in him.
It's like all the adults in the world (aka the rest of the world) know that santa claus is a hoax, and even most of the other kids (americans) know it, too, but there are still a bunch of the kids who refuse to accept that Santa is not real. It's these same kids that refuse to accept that this President has totally screwed over the people, deceived the people, ripped off the people, gotten thousands of our soldiers (and WTC employees) killed, has bloodied America's hands with the blood of hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis, Afghanis, Palestinians and Lebanese people, created rconomic policy that destroyed (and continues to destroy) millions of American citizens' livelihood, created environmental policies that will increase the amount of diseases that are contracted by American citizens, created healthcare policy that makes it even harder for the average American to access healthcare, created foreign policy that causes the entire world to mistrust us and fear whatever we will do next, created a combination of foreign policy and economic policy that has driven the prive of gas up over 300% during his tenure and has escalated the national debt over 15,000,000% (or close to it).
They just stand by the worn out lines, like...
iffin he din go after the terrists, they woulda dun killed us all!
them whacky californy ******** was tryin to git murried!
it's the end of the worl and he's god!! god bless him!
I'm a redneck and I'm ok, I love gdub cuz he hates gays!
iffin you don like him, get da helloutahere traita!

I agree and I have noticed more and more ppl use the word, 'depressing'. I too have used it and felt that way. There have been times on here when I have given absolute proof of things and the republicans come back and say, 'u gotta to better than that.' Amazing!
For example, Frontline who wins the Truth in Journalism award practically every year, did a show called The Dark Side where they had MANY exBush officials and Lt. General state that they personally informed Bush of the faulty intelligence BEFORE we went to war. That is proof he knowlingly lied to congress. I didn't make this up. Those respected members of his own administration who have now left stated this. A few of them even state they left because of the depth of deception and how hard it was to handle.
Anyways, back to your question.. I can completely relate. I am losing all faith in human kind or my country to remain the example to the world representing fairness and equality.
Most of the time, I get the feeling that republicans think when democrats complain about Bush or give proof in hopes for the truth to come out, that they think this is a competition. That we are trying to win something.... or trying to prove them wrong or something.. it is not about that. It is about the betterment of my country and trying to salvage our civil liberties and save our country from deception, manipulation and inhumane actions.

You are correct! Not only our reputation but the pocket books of our children and gr-children when they have to pay back the deficit. This adm. is a spend and pay back later administration.
If rather than spend a trillion dollars making them richer overseas, they could spend it here in the USA to fight terrorism here.
Don't bother reading sour-grapes from leogirl. Don't forget how hard the rep. tried and failed to get stuff on the Clinton's. If there was something there, they would have gotten it.

Lets see....for the previous 8 years prior to Bush, we got very little response when attacked, which gave them{terrorists} think they could do anything, the world laughed at us because of sex in the oval office, that when things got tough, we would run....now they know the truth, that we will stand up for the little guy, and for what is right....ant that no punk like Bin Laden will scare us away from that.....or from our resolve....we are now respected again

Bush did not ruined America, The politican ruined it for him.
Remember 9/11 and keep that in mind if he did not do anything about it we will be trump on and be humiliated.
Those country that does not like us they are just jealous because the US is a very succesful country. You need to visit other countries and see how they lived and how lucky we are to be able to enjoy the freedom that our forefathers have given us.

Cheer up, he's painted himself into a corner. Even the supreme court he rigged for himself thinks he's gone too far. If we can just get quietly through the next two years, people won't even remember there ever was a second President Bush.

u do sound like a lefty. George Bush is doing a HELL of a lot better than John Kerry would have done. Leftys want to just compromise. but its time somebody stood up to the damn terrorists and kickeds some a$$. But I do have to agree with this person in one way because when Bush called Islam the "religion of peace" i lost some confidence in him.
I THINK ITS TIME SOMEONE STARTED LIFTING UP THE GREATEST COUNTRY EVER TO EXIST ON THE FACE OF THE WHOLE DAMN PLANET AND NOT TEAR IT DOWN LIKE KERRY WOULD HAVE DONE, AND ALL US REAL AMERICANS SHOULD BE FRIKKIN THANKFUL TO GOD THAT WE HAVE A FRIGGIN GOOD PRESIDENT WHO WILL NOT BE A FRIGGIN WUSS AND BACK DOWN. WELL ALL BE SPEAKING ARABIC IN 10 YEARS IF WE GET A PRESIDENT LIKE HILARY CLINTON. WE WILL GET NOWHERE IF WE KEEP DEGRADING OUR COUNTRY.
