When will our society start prosecuting females tied to having kids to stay on walfare? This is fraud. Welfare was not set up to provide as a head of household. It was not designed to raise kids. When will justice be served on these low life pieces of crap. I hate all of them.

Well Ben, it used to be a lot worse, although it might be returning to the way it was. A few years back, the law starting clamping down on these people, and cutting off their seed money. For a while it looked like it was working. They even started looking for work, at least some of them, but now it's back to the same old crap.

The only practical answer for women who want welfare for their 2nd little bastard, is sterilization. That's right, if you want use to pay for your whoring around, it's time to draw a line in the sand.

Even though this question is an obvious troll, I am going to answer it anyway in the hopes that some of the ignorant children who read it get some real, solid, USEFUL information.

First of all...there is no such thing as welfare anymore. Thanks to the Welfare Reform Act of 1997, anyone applying for cash benefits MUST (1)name the father of their child, so the government can reclaim child support (2) (a)must study a minimum of 20 hours a week to get a high school diploma, and PASS ALL TESTS or (b) WORK!!!!!! for a minimum of 20 hours a week.

That's right children, there is no more welfare, it is now WORKfare. If you cannot "find" a job, your local welfare office will find one for you. While you are working, they will pay for you to put your baby in a licensed day care or child in an afterschool program.

Also please note that welfare WILL pay for birth control pills, IUD's, cervical caps, Norplant, or any other form of RELIABLE birth control for the female.

The real fraud nowadays is "disability"...not welfare. Did you know the government classifies drug addiction or alcoholism as a "disablility"??? Try attacking those cretins. They are the ones frauding the system.

Very true. I once ran into a 26 year old single female with 13 kids, and she was receiving full welfare benefits. I counseled her on the matter, and she told me that she was going to continue having kids for as long as she could, so she would never have to work again. I understand the need for welafre for those who are medically challenged and can not hold down a job, but for all others, I think the rules should change to where they mandate job skills training (whether it be in construction, working at Mickey D's, or licking postage stamps) and require these people to work. I believe for all the "slackers" on welfare, they be given a time period to get themselves off. I have known most of these people to not want to work becuase the only jobs they can get are labor intensive (landscaping, construction, etc.) and they are extremely lazy.

It seems to be a proven fact that there is simply "breeding" going on. Women who do not work and have no income should be given some type of birth control. There are men who breed for the sake of breeding. If you have a man who is convicted and he has 6 kids by 5 different woman there is no intent to have a "family" . Additionally, how many of those 6 do you think will grow up to be anything more than a criminal? I am all for mandatory birth control.

Well, I guess we "allow" it because you can't legislate stupidity. It would be nice if everyone played by the same rules, but they don't and that is life.

BTW - instead of hating perhaps your energy would be better channeled into working with troubled youth, or with Planned Parenthood. Do you vote? Have you written to our president, your senators, your congressman? There is a lot of legislation right now to fund better and more accurate sex education programs. We have the highest teen pregnancy rate of ANY industrialized nation. That is the problem that really needs to be addressed. I guess just "saying no" isn't working out so well.

Actually, it WAS designed to raise kids. It was originally called Aid to Dependent Children, then Aid to Families with Dependent Children.

So what do you recommend we do - sterilize all welfare mothers?

In my experience, most women on welfare do NOT want to be there but have no other options. I was one of them. I had my pride, but when my (now ex-) husband disappeared for 5 days, leaving me with 2 kids in diapers, in a strange city with no family, and nothing in the house to eat, I had to have help. I got off before the end of the month, but for those few weeks it covered food and rent for me and my children. My tax dollars paid for this for years, and when I needed help, it was there. Thank God the system works!

Thats a bit of a strong sentiment (even though I agree with you in theory)
Back in "olden days" people who were condsidred useless or failures were sterilized. When people found out there was an outcry that would surely resurface if we were to do anything similar today.

Well interestingly the KKKonservative RepubliKKKans who are anti-welfare are also anti-abortion. So they want to force young lower income women to have children but then they dont want to chip in to help them take care of their kids.

The same reason that they can't castrate ignorant men. Believe me, I get angry sometimes when I see professional welfare scum, but you can't judge everyone based upon the stereotype.
