teachings of a Jew? His blood alcohol content was .12. Over the limit of .08, but not particularly high for some with a tolerance like Gibson's. The people at the bar said he was in great spirits, not noticeably intoxicated. This was not the rant of someone fallling down drunk. He has been pulled over before for suspicion of DUII, but this is the first time he was charged. This may explain his rage. He expected the same special treatment.

Redemption does not mean perfection. We are born of this world and are naturally inclined to sin. What makes this so wrong was the way he chose to respond to his embarassment. As to his religion being based on Jewish teachings, that does not preclude piety. Nor does it give him any divinity. "For by grace are ye saved through faith, that not OF YOURSELVES, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8. We have fallen short of the mark, we have all sinned. His is so much the worse because he is in a high profile position. But this does not mean that he won't ever sin. It just means that when he falls from that grace, God will be there when he is ready to come back.
I learned a long time ago that if you put your faith in people they will let you down, at some point in time. You can never be all things to all people.

Don't judge him. He is an alcoholic. Alcoholism isn't easy to overcome. He has been in rehab before and probably will be again.

He has apologized for his behavior and for the anti-Semetic comments he made. Remember that he is human like everyone else. He may have more money. But he has the same addictions as anyone else. This one happened to make the news.

I can't believe I'm coming to Ole Mel's defense, but the man IS a recovering alcoholic. From what I've heard, even one drink for someone who's on the wagon can make them go nuts.

Dead Mike: Jesus was a Jew. After his death and more people began following his works, that was when Christianity was born. And in its early stages, it was a hellish religion that threatened people with hell and sins and scaring them into believe that Jesus was born from a virgin. It's in religion history books, look it up?

Remember: "In Vino Veritas" (In wine, there is truth).
At least he has (apparently, sincerely) apologized for what he said. I don't think many other Hollywood bloated egotists would even acknowledge that they said it.
Time will tell if Gibson is sincere in his desire to change his ways, in more ways than one...
