My computer is about 1 year old. It's a Dell and the speakers have always been like this; when I'm listening to music and I click something or surf the web it gets all skippy and choppy. What is wrong?

What is your processor? It may be impossible to make your computer go much faster if you have an older, slow processor.

One way to speed up processes, though, is to close out of any stuff you're not currently using and that is just sucking RAM. To do this, close any unneeded open screens, of course, but also check to see what's running in the background that doesn't have a screen up.

How to do this? If you're using Windows, go to Start, and then Run, and then type msconfig. When the popup appears, go to the Startup tab. Check to see all the crap that automatically loads on your computer upon startup. If there are things that you don't need to have open, uncheck them. This will speed up your boot time as well as perhaps speed up your processing.

Another thing to do is to check for spyware and other malware. If you don't have an anti-malware program installed, a good free one is available at http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/. Bad processes running in the background could be slowing your sh*t down.

Good luck.

That has nothing to do with your speakers. Your CPU is too slow and when it gets busy, it can't handle the sound as well.
You need a faster computer.
