You're confusing the United Kingdom flag with the Confederate flag.

Answer number two is straight stupid.

The Confederate Flag is flying in a lot of other countries for a few reasons maybe.

Some people came here from the UK to fight in that war, some went back afterward. Some Southerners actually went overseas to fight in other countries after the war. The list goes on.

To put it shortly, people around the world have a different view of that era because they actually get a good education and not a PC version. The flag doesn't wet the panties of everyone who sees it there.

But anyway, I've seen that confederate flag so much that I wonder how history is thought in Bible Belt US, because it seems that many (not to say the majority) haven't learned that they lost the war.

Guess here.

1. Southerner saying hi to folks back home (assuming the match will be broadcast in US or on satellite).

2. Euros saying that they wished the South had won the war.
