Most carriers do charge for messaging. You would have to contact your mobile carrier and ask them what there rate is. For example I have Tmobile and for unlimted amount of messaging for a month is $14.95 which would include any downloading or uploading of pictures. This may sound like a lot, but since I have "alerts" set on my mobile, letting me know when someone either emails me or comments on my blog its actually worth it. Also some carriers will charge you if someone sends you something. So make sure you know ahead of time, before you start using that feature, cause it can be expensive if you don't.
Good luck!

I wouldn't take the advise of anyone on this site, it could end up being very costly for you. The best way to find out is to call your cell phone provider, each plan is different.

It depends on who your phone carrier is. BE safe rather than sorry and check it out.
