can a guy and a girl really become close friends.... or will something eventually happen between them?

I think in the mind of a girl they can keep it as a good friend if thats what their intension is, but most likely for a guy at some time or another will get into deeper feeling then just friends.Especially after few beers. I don't think eventually things will happen unless both of them let it happen. I think ur question is just up in the air depending on the 2 people.

I always thought so. I had a lot of guy friends. My brother as well as other guys and now my husband have since informed me that guys are only "friends" with women simply because there might be a possiblity that something more than friendship will happen.

I know they can be really close without anything happening to them. I have a great guy friend that is straight and nothing at all has happened to us. No girlfriend or boyfriend ever came between us being friends. Also, there has never been anything other than friendship between us.

Yes they can be close friends with out anything romantic happening. My wife has two guy friends and they are also my friends now. she met them in high school and they have developed very close friendships. BUT nothing romantic ever happens because their love for each other is'nt that way they love each other as siblings (they even fight as if they are) my wife had no siblings growing up and these guys and my brothers and sister have become HER brothers and sister! One of the guy friends we are good friends with is even a old boyfriend of hers from high school that they desided their relationship just wasnt "love" it was more sibling love. And no i have no hard feeling because she has guy friends its not like they go out partying! We will all get together and throw our own little party (you knowlike playing twister for shots, or shadowrun, or poker night type stuff) we all have a blast, together.so yes a guy and girl can be friends without having romantic feelings.

You can be really really good friends with a guy. I am. My two closest friends are guys. I've never thought of them like that and they know that friends is all we're ever going to be. If you want to be "just friends" and nothing more, you just have to draw the line early, tell them thats all your looking for and if they really are great guys then they'll understand. BUT.....I have had guy friends that I have eventually dated, gone out with, etc. It doesnt' always happen like that but it can.

Someone tell me once, that a guy can be a better friend then a girl and is because after been best friends they can be the worst enemy and a guy with a girl can work pertfectlly and if something happen it wouldn't be bad becausethey know each other and make one of the best relationship.

It depends ! if you start the friendship with a crush on each other then you'll probably become lovers one day. They say friends make the best lovers !!!!! Or just keep him as a friend and don't let any feelings come in between you too. It's good to have a strong male "friend" in your life when you need someone !

oh good Lord....yes. it starts out as being friends but if they want to take the relationship farther, then eventually it will happen. now, what happens between them is something that is yet to come. it depends on what it is. they can stick together and get married.

One of my dearest friends is a guy...love him dearly..we call each other weekly...definitely are the others' support system.
We discussed early on that we'd rather be really great friends than romantic, and that was 10 years ago. We've even recently discussed changing the rules..and getting involved..and decided not to.
So, I would say...yes, you can be. You just both have to be on the same page.

of course they can become close friends. Sometimes it does end up being more than that but it doesn't have to. People are people, too many put us in classes. Just play it by ear, whatever happens is meant to be.
