No of course not. There have been comedy shows about that!
My favorite comedian would say "People push the button on an elevator and expect it to go faster! Sure, press the button twice and the elevator will think 'oh boy! there are more people, I had better go faster!"

No it makes me wanna punch somebody in the face when they stand there and push the button til it comes. Once or a million times makes NO difference. If anything pushing it more may cause the elevator to malfunction. I hate it too when someone presses a floor when the light is already on. Is that really necessary?

No, but if you press YOUR LEVEL and the DOOR CLOSE button at the same time, it'll SKIP everybody else's floor and goes to yours. TRY AT OWN RISK!!!
Otherwise:
Try some of these activities while you're waiting for your floor.
- Play the harmonica
- Shave
- Blow your nose and show the contents of your kleenex to everyone
- Give name tags to the people who are with you
- Burp and say "mmm, tasty"
- Fart then giggle
Note: Have you realised sometimes elevators have a maximum carrying capacity which is impossible to fit that amount anyways?
Like I was in this really cramped elevator which probably can't fit more than 8 people and the max carrying capacity was 20!!! The gits!

Nope. The button adds that floor to stops the elevator will make, whether it's pushed from the lobby or from inside the elevator.

Nope, in fact, since the days of elevator attendants, when people would wait much longer for "leaning" on the button, the elevator industry has added the "Slow Down" feature to commemorate those elegant soldiers of Ups and Downs.

nope, it used to be you could hack an elevator and make it go faster by pressing your floor and the door close button at the same time and it would skip every floor but yours. Unfortunately for you and those of you who work in high rise building the door close button might have been disabled therefore preventing you from hacking the system.
just like cheating there is always another way I just have to find it.

Yes. You just have to press the button and run to the next floor in opposite direction of the elevator. You will catch it much faster.

Elevator manufacturers have a deal between themselves. They have agreed to a secret code that makes the elevator arrive more quickly.
You need to push it one short and two long but don't tell anyone I told you so as they would hav me killed.

Let the others cry "no", but as for me, I shall continue to push the elevator button. I'm not going to muck about lazily, no, I'd prefer to have that false sense of actually accomplishing something. Push, Push..... Push.

Doesn't matter if it makes it arrive faster or not. Everyone knows you can't ride on somebody else's button push.
