I am an alternative medicinal therapist and an ex nurse and i always advise a cold pack for this problem. It helps to calm down the inflammation that causes the pain and stops the muscular spasms that also cause pain. I also tell my patients to use aromatherapy oils in a massage or in their bath works a treat.
