Ok, it is a NEW computer, no devices added. under manage devices, everything is normal, no missing info or drivers. The message pops up and goes away in a matter of two to three seconds, it's driving me mad, cause the speaker beeps every time it comes up again.. aproximately every ten seconds or so.

press cntl, alt, and delete at the same time and then task manager. See what programs are attempting to run in the backround. The computer may be looking for something that you don't have plugged in.

To install USB 2.0 controller drivers
Before completing this procedure, determine if the USB 2.0 controller drivers you have on your computer are installed. To determine this, do the following:

Open Computer Management.
In the console tree, click Device Manager.
Where?

Computer Management
System Tools
Device Manager
On the View menu, click Devices by type.
In the details pane, click the plus sign to the left of Universal Serial Bus controllers.
If the word "Enhanced" is included in any of the listed controllers, your computer has USB 2.0 controller drivers installed.

If you cannot find the word "Enhanced" in any of the listed controllers, perform the following procedure:

Stop using any USB devices (such as a printer or Web cam) except the mouse and keyboard.
In the details pane, click the plus sign to the left of Other devices. Then, under Other devices right-click Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller, and then click Update Driver.
Follow the steps in the Hardware Update Wizard to complete the procedure. When you are finished, you might be prompted to restart your computer.
Notes

To open Computer Management, click Start, and then click Control Panel. Click Performance and Maintenance, click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Computer Management.
If Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller is not listed under Other devices, you cannot install a USB 2.0 driver. To find out more about installing these drivers, contact the manufacturer of your computer.

look in device manager, you will have a device with an exclamation point. Identify it and try to find a driver for it on the Internet. Start with Manufacturer's web site.

As this is a brand new system I would contact HP for support, it should be covered under warranty. Just be sure that there are no after market devices connected via usb including your wireless adapter, printer, mice, keyboard etc.

go to device manager and see whether if there is any device that is not recognised by your system. basically a device with a yello exclamatory mark or a question mark. try finding the device and install the correct driver. if you do this your problem will be resolved.
