No one alive can answer that question..

how would anyone on this site know, we are still all alive. But if you think about it I would imagine it would be quite painful. You'd be in the water, you couldn't breath because of all the water getting into your lungs, you would still be alive so of course you are going to feel that, it takes some people longer to drown. I am hoping this is just one of those crazy questions and not a question you are asking for yourself. If it is, don't do anything stupid, if you are having problems talk to someone, or write to me. Whatever is wrong will pass in time.

Have you ever choked on water? Or gotten a mouthful of water when you didn't mean to and it went into your lungs? Imagine that feeling multiplied. Or imagine being under water.. holding your breath until you can't hold it anymore and having to breath in.. but all you can breath is water..

i'd imagine it hurts.

Yes, in a sense.

Its suffocation in a sense, and that's always OPPRESSIVE. Meaning your trying to suck in something that's NOT THERE (Oxygen!) and thus your panicking (you're body naturally does this trying to get oxygen) and fighting for your life, so you're SCARED when you die. Pain, probably not much, but I'm not sure, I never got that far.

There is pain involved in most death, however I'm not dying to find out.

It is suffocation. Panic sets in and the person probably passes out before feeling very much.

It depends very much on the circumstances.

By the way, if you know of anyone suicidal--or if you yourself are--you can call the Samaritans hotline toll free. They are kind and they listen. They keep it confidential.

I'm curious to why you asked... If you need help ask for it. Ask a pastor, counselor, friend.... if you still cant find anyone, ask me for my email, and I will give it to you so we can talk. I will pray for you.
