just measured, it's 31 inches

from the top of the stove to the bottom of the cabinet which you will be installing the range hood should measure 31 inches, no less

Instructions with the range hood should tell you. I recently installed a microwave/range hood and it said 18" clear, minimum.

I just went to measure mine and its has 18 inches between stove surface and the hood.

it depends on how tall the person that is usally cooking
it needs to be high enof that they wont hit their head on it
