Okay for those of you who could not figure this out OF COURSE I AM NOT SUGGEST THAT THEY BLAME HIM FOR THE STORM ITS SELF. I mean that they blame him for the slow rescue opporation. Which is the Governers job. Where was she and what took her so long?

Ranger12 only morons think that I am referring to the storm when I say the Katrina disaster. I of course mean the way the rescue was handled. The governer and mayor did nothing.

Well I don't remember how many feet they are under sea. But I do remember it was a lot. Personal accountability is no more in this world. If I saw a large threatening disaster coming right at me, I'm not going to wait for someone to tell me to get out, I'm going to leave before hand.
People want the government to pamper them and then they have a finger to point at when they do not do the right thing themselves.

Only the morons think that anyone is blaming Bush, I myself have yet to hear anyone blame bush for Katrina, but there are many who are rightfully blaming him for the slow response. And it wasn't the Governor of LA or the mayor of New Orleans who put disaster relief by way of fema under the control of "homeland security" which was a disaster. If you were truly looking for an answer to your question, there it is, if you were just standing up for your president, look at some facts first.

Is this a rhetorical question? Among other things, Bush is responsible because he's President, Commander-in-Chief, the "Decider". The buck stops in the Oval Office. The list of incompetent decisions regarding Katrina is too extensive to outline, but here's the most compelling: In a recorded transcript of a conversation between Michael Brown and President Bush, Michael Brown warned, "Mr. President, it is likely that the levies will not hold." Translated: if the levies breach, hundreds of people will die and the damage will be staggering. To which Bush made no comment nor took any action. I'd say that's cause for blame.

You see, pres Bush is a repub, Magin and Blanco are damnocrats. To be a truly qualified damnocrat one must possess
the ability to shift blame. As is in this case pres Bush declared Mississippi and Louisiana disaster areas two days before Katrina actually hit. In the mean time"blaming" Blanco and "chocolate city" Magin sat back and did nothing. After the storm, as everyone knows pres Bush was blamed in every aspect caused by "the Storm of the century" while "blaming" Blanco and "chocolate city" Magin offered no help and no solutions at any time during this tragic moment. So sad, that the personal responsibility the blamer and Mr. Chocolate himself will be swept through the rug of death and destruction while our pres takes all the heat.

In my opinion I think what is upsetting to some people was the response time for help and that is why the people are blaming. On 9/11 there were many neighborhoods downtown that had no electricity for weeks and yet Wall Street was up and running in less than a day. So its this type of one sidedness that people are talking about. A view of the rich will be taken cared of first but let the poor people wait.

Who knows? I love the total lack of class and character in the elected officials of New Orleans and Louisiana. The Major cowers in a corner and then gets his friends out of harms way while leaving how many buses sitting to be flooded out? The "little tom boy senator" who threatens to "slug" the President of the United States, and a Governor who is worthless. Where were they when this storm was coming? My God it was on the news for over a week before it hit there! Blaming President Bush is ridiculous.

I don't think the response to the disaster was slow, I think they got in there as soon as the weather allowed them. I have to say that personal responsibility is pretty high on my list of attributes, so when the people of New Orleans heard about the potential of this hurricane it seems to me they would have gotten the hell out of there. I certainly wouldn't have waited for someone to tell me leave.
To answer the question, President Bush has been the left's scapegoat since he entered office so anything that goes wrong will always be his fault.

The governor and mayor are not in control of the National Gaurd, who's traditional duty is typically to protect our nation at home and respond to just that type of emergency. However, the national guard does serve at the pleasure of the President of the United States, as does any member of the armed forces, and he decided to deploy them in Iraq so that he could report lower numbers of regular Army and Marines to the media. That is why he is blamed for slow response, because he directly caused it. That and because he peronally created the beauraucratic nightmare of the Department of Homeland Security.

Because he had appointed a crony with no experience and no qualifications to head the federal emergency management agency (FEMA) America has always taken pride in its ability to resond to disasters efficiently and humanely. But not this time. While people were dying in attics and on rooftops the President of the United States uttered the immortal words, "You're doing a heckuva job, Brownie." .http://www.commondreams.org/headlines05/1230-01.htm
