This sign always makes me laugh and i pass it whenever I drive through Michigan coming from Canada, somewhere on the way to Detroit and I was wondering where I could find a picture of it. I couldn't find anything when I did a google image search.

I am not sure why it is funny. The signs are trying to warn you not to pick up hitchhikers in the event that they have escaped.

Here is one of those signs in Texas, near Houston:

Here is another one in Illinois:

Here is another one (I think in Colorado):

Here is another one in Washington, near Gig Harbor:

Here is another one (not sure where it is located):

Here is a similar one (not sure where it is located):

Here is another one in Texas (small and difficult to read):

They are found thoughout the United States and Canada, even in Connecticut. There is a sign near near Danbury, CT that warns "FEDERAL CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTION DO NOT PICK UP HITCHHIKERS".

I found a post from Beth ( http://theholeyourein.blogspot.com/2005/11/kansas-part-i-road-trip.html ) where she writes: "The funniest road sign I've ever seen was the one near a Connecticut penitentiary, something to the effect of "State prison 1/2 mile, do not pick up hitchhikers.""

So, they are obviously in Connecticut, too.

Well, I can't help you with that. Might I suggest pulling over, next time you see the sign and taking a picture of it?

Yeah, we have them too (in Washington.) Maybe there's a prison in CT that you could drive near enough to find one.

The roadsigns really wanted to swear at the roadrunners, not the road users.... I think.
