Since you are a Yahoo user, why not try the Yahoo Yellow Pages:

http://yp.yahoo.com/

Look under "pool builders". Solicit bids from a couple of reputable pool builders and check their references. Here is a website where actual customers review and rate contractors of all types:

http://www.angieslist.com/angieslist/SiteMap.asp

You mignt want to check out any prospective contractors to see if they have been reviewed before you sign a contract.

Good luck with your project.

there are quite a few we have received plans from, we are still deciding.
but to name a few
Blue Haven
Swan (they did not show up for their appointment, then said they would call to set up a new appointment and never did)
McCauley
Viking
Sunrise
Premier
Moore

just to name a few.
A few words of caution, it is difficult to compare companies directly since they will offer different surfaces, different pumps heaters...
Also my understanding is pool companies are known to be flakey, one of the pool reps was very forthcoming and told us what to ask for, and you should not have to make a down payment prior to work starting. (we have some common friends)

good luck
