I hoped you would get good answers to this question -- about the book, that is.
So far, as I am drafting this response, you haven't. So I googled it.
Maybe someone who has actually read the book will want to set the record straight, but from what I read here and there, it sounds like a disappointing book, not worth one's time (or $$$).
For example,
From AudioFile
Howard Schultz continuously reminds the listener of his didactic purpose in writing this history of his management of Starbucks: to teach industry how to succeed humanely. But early on it becomes clear that his real purpose is to crow about how he rose from poverty and, without help, became not just a coffee mogul, but a major cultural influence. Not that there aren't lessons here, but they're between the lines of his endless bragging. . . . Schultz's conceit would soon grow insufferable.
From Kirkus Reviews [usually not negative]
A chatty history of Starbucks by its CEO . . . . Though this is unsatisfying as a skim-milk latte in places, Schultz is less a braggart and more a true believer than many CEOs . . . . Copyright ©1997, Kirkus Associates, LP. All rights reserved.
Apparently, his book is not as good as his coffee--except maybe the "skim milk lattes."

wow I love this place..java chip frappachino!!!! They are just a good company. That's my opinion anyway. I am spoiled for the starbucks taste. When we were hit by the hurricanes last year Starbucks was shut down for a while and I refused to get a mocha anywhere else.

How did they get rich? They sold a chemically addictive product. They might as well have sold chronic. lol.
