We like to keep up to date on the latest lighting technology. All we use now are CFL's-no incandescent. We are loking ahead to the future with household LED lighting! Wouldn't it be nice to screw in a bulb and not have to change it for 30 years? (Their expected life) Also, energy ratios are very high. A 2-watt LED bulb produces 30 watts of light!

Generally you should go for the most lumens/watt for the light you need and often that ends up being the cheapest bulbs that burn brighter even if they don't last as long.

A 60W bulb may cost $0.25 but if it lasts for a typical 1,000 hours, at $0.07/kWhr it will use $4.20 worth of electrical power. Obviously the cost of the power the bulb uses is an important consideration when it comes to shopping for light bulbs.

Kind of an abstract Q,,,smiles. All kinds. I have to say though, I've never strictly tested their claims as to how many hours a lightbulb is stated to last. IE: 1000 hours, etc.

I'm with HMB. I always buy GE Reveal. Everything looks so much more crisp and refreshing with a white light. I also don't get as many migraines with them.

GE Reveal, they give a brighter light without a yellow cast and last a long time.
