If you are using windows xp, check your desktop icon for a recycle bin. The file might still be there, in which case you can open it and save it somewhere else.

Look in the recycle bin on the desktop. Hopefully it isn't set to automatically delete everything and it should be in there. If not, I don't know what to tell you except keep backups of important papers.

Go to the desktop and double click on the recycle bin. Check the contents for your file name. If it is in there, right mouse click on it and select restore - it will go back to where you originally had it. If it is not in the recycle bin, then it is totally lost.

Unfortunately, nothing...you should always back up your files. Hopefully you remember most of what you wrote. You could also put a password on your computer so your sister can't mess with it and do this again.

First off, explore the recycle bin to make sure its not still in there, if it is, restore it and apologize for trying to kill your sister. If its not, commence with the killing and when you're finished, start on a new one.

"once the file is deleated it can't be retrieved"
WRONG! Unless it's wiped. Nothing gets deleted unless it is over written. Look for a file recovery application.

Check the trash bin. If not, go to recent documents, try to fin it.
Dont be mad at your sister, she did not do it on purpose, instead of being mad, use that energy to write a better one.
Hope it works out.
