I drive a 2001 Honda Civic. I teach Driver Education. Since I have bought it I have put about 350,000 km on it. I have had no problems with the transmission or the engine. I have done regular maintenance as required. I did replace the passenger front tie rod end because my students hit the curb on occasion, but even that was at 325,000 km.
I would recommend this car to anyone looking to purchase a reliable vehicle.
Remember, a car becomes habituated to it's owner, and parts wear out according to how it is driven........
