How in any way does the phrase, "the birds and the bees" relate to Sex?
When I hear the bird and the bees in a sentance and it's always reated to sex.


Example:
I think it's time little billy learned about "the birds and the bees"

how do the birds and the bees have anything to do with the act of sex?

just curious...

Birds (women) lay eggs .... bees (men) pollinate flowers...
its a sarcastic metaphor

therefore... you learn about "the birds and the bees"

I have to agree with Ben, but on the other hand, not sure how old you may be, but with "Today's Society" the way it is, that is an old fashion term to speak about sex. About 60-70 years ago you could not speak of sex at all in public, as alot of things you might have just cussed out a preacher. Morals and values have gone out the window, and not really suprised to see a question like this, especially younger people.

I have many views on things So I will just keep them to myself before i get flammed.

Well birds and bees do...they have sex.(:<} )

Actually it is an American universal way to refer to sex to children...because they are insects and animals that most children are familiar with. It is the simplest way to refer to and explain the sex act.
