Anyone know how to get a free domain name?

Does anyone know a website so I can get a domain name for free?

I don't want anything like www.name.websitename.com, I'd prefer if it's www.namehere.com.

If you don't know then thats ok.

Most places will give you a free domain... IF you buy hosting from them.

The age of free domain names for a small banner ad are beyond over. Sorry.

normally it would cost money because icann charges money to register a domain.

However,microsoft has a beta offering: http://officelive.microsoft.com/.
