For the first digit there are 9 possibilities: 123456789
For the second and the third digit, there are 10 possibilities: 0123456789
For the fourth digit there are 5 possibilities: 13579
So there are 9*10*10*5 = 4500 possible codes.

the first place can be filled in 9 ways (using digits 1 to 9)
second and third places can be filled in 10 ways each (using digits 0 to 9)
The fourth place can be filled in 5 ways (using digits 1,3,5,7,9)

therefore together there are 9*10*10*5 = 4500 different codes
