I would certainly believe someone who served in Iraq over those who do not or those who have no affiliation with it. However, even with those who are serving, there are a mix of opinions and beliefs of what is going on. There are those who serve who would agree with what you said, and if I heard that from someone who served then I would believe that person. But there are people who serve who would say things quite opposite, and would state that they are proud to have been part of a war that helped protect others and saved others' lives. There are liars on both sides and liars who serve and do not serve. So who should people believe? No one knows anymore because the facts aren't out there, there are only a few facts streamed in with the lies, exaggerations, and political ploys. I am not a liberal and I am not a conservative, I am only a confused American bombarded with reasons to hate the war on every media outlet available, yet I feel that most issues that are touched in the media are not the real issues at hand.

The Israeli government prayed for the attack on Iraq, which has eliminated the strategic threat posed by Iraq. America was pushed into the war by a group of Neo-Conservatives, almost all of them Jews, who had a huge influence on the White House. In the past, some of them had acted as advisers to Binyamin Netanyahuwww.nowarforisrael.com/

War has never really helped anyone, the only thing it does is put more wood on the fire. Service men dont want to be out there and wouldnt lie to thier families, media maby but not in letters, unless it was of importance like a location or mission.

I would need to have unquestionable prof that it was a real letter from a real GI and not a propaganda letter.
Why because we have been lied to enough.I'm sure some real GI would say he regretted actions done in any war,but his job is to follow orders not to question them .
War is doing a lot of things no one enjoys or wants to do but we all must do our job.
Oh and Im a liberal and I dont lie .I dont have to all I have to do is put 4 letters together BUSH lies.

Soldiers can get in big trouble for telling their honest opinions on some matters so I would be more likely to trust the person who's boss won't fire or prosecute them if they say the wrong thing.

well unless the order to protect this civilian is illegal, meaning... that it is in the interest of the soldiers commander but not the US army's interest, then the soldier is correct in refusing the order. but how is protecting a civilian a bad thing. no matter who it is??
and yes i know many ppl who would lie about what they see in the streets of baghdad... they are called liberals!

I don't feel a need to back up my reasons for believing the guys who are doing the dirty work.......I have always believed the troops who serve, not the politicians who just tell public what they want us to hear.

Of course I would believe only those who are serving in Iraq, or have served in Iraq. This is why I have no strong opinions one way or another regarding the war. I refuse to protest it, but I don't support it fully either. I just don't think anyone can possibly know what's really going on unless they're there, or have been there.
That said, I've spoken to many soldiers who are there now, or who have been there, and I get mixed opinions. Some say the Iraqi people are warm, caring, wonderful people, and that we're doing good there.
Others say that the Iraqi people are a bunch of pu$$ies who won't stand up for themselves. They say all there is there, is death and destruction.
I figure the truth is somewhere in between. It's not a fairy tale, but it's not a horror story either. It's just war. That's it.
