Is the best way to fight to defeat your enemy physically or is there a case to fight for hearts and minds.?

if i convince someone through force they may not really be convinced. they may be putting on an act out of fear, and when i am no longer there to observe them they may return to behavior i thought was wrong.

if i convince someone through debate and evidence, their minds have been changed. i have made them my allies in a war for truth. once having seen it, they will not be able to ignore it again. and there is the possibility that i might learn from the experience, so that we find a better truth than the one i discovered alone. that will not happen if i simply force them to say they agree.

3 Reason:

1. You may change your enemy's mind about something, but the core reason he hates you enough to be your enemy will never change.

2. If you kill your enemy physically, he's not coming back. You never have to fight him again.

3. If you change your enemy's mind about hating you, that just proves he is weak minded. In a year or two someone might change his mind back to hating you and all the fighting starts again.

WE all have to educate our children not to hate, We the so called Democracies need to improve the freedom of our own people and show all PEOPLES that we can as a human RACE be CONSTRUCTIVE rather than DESTRUCTIVE. FIrst thing though is to call our troops home and lock up BLAIR and BUSH and then we can talk to Arab Nations to stop Violent people insitu through Internationally agreed police force not War.
