The [plls close at 8:00 PM EDT. Though they are using new electronic voting machines, it may take about three hours to get all the votes counted. The outcome of the race should be know by 11:00 PM - or maybe earlier.

voting stops at 6:00 pm and then the tally the votes until it's done...they always have a committee that conducts this that is bipartisan.
