Petrification is the process by which the soft squishy things inside a living creature become mineralized (i.e. turned to stone). I suppose it is possible for a human to be turned into stone, but it would take a very long time and would have to occur under very specialized conditions.

No. At least, not naturally. The petrification proces that happens to trees occurs over a very long period of time, and after all the squishy biological stuff from the tree dies, dries out, gets eaten up, and then replaced by stone.
Since trees have a lot of plant cell walls which are biologically indigestible to most things that like to eat, these walls remain to give the tree its basic structure even when petrified.

Humans are made up MOSTLY of squishy stuff, so there wouldn't be anything left of us to petrify except our bones. Hence fossils.

Radan (mountain), 30 km south-east of Kursumlija in Serbia - the legend says that these are petrified people who attended the wedding ceremony:

why should they be scared, they're already dead! but i guess they can as zombies. in night of the living dead theres one zombie who i swear looks scared shi*tless. watch it bro and see if you don't see her looking scared. maybe zombies are scared of other zombies, i dunno.

so i think that humans can be petrified at death even though im not scared of death. i dont think we can verify if zombies are chicken shi*ts, its just my theory born of smoking a bowl before i signed on. sorry dude. hope this helps in your search for truth, justice and the american way.
