Hi! I am pretty sure I can tell you because I have been getting them for the past few months, recently.

Cost: The cost for a bikini wax (Bermuda Triangle) is about $25. My salon person gives me something she calls a "Half-Brazilian Wax" in which all hair is removed except on the labia (I didn't want my labia hair removed because she said the labia has no muscle so there is no way to tighten up or get ready for hair removal there: in short, this means that it would hurt like a b*tch for that extra part done). This costs me $55. The full Brazilian Wax (in which all hair is removed, or just the "landing strip" is there) is usually somewhere between $50-75, depending on where you get it done.

Where do they wax: Most hair salons, nail salons, spas, or obviously, just places that specialize in waxing (as my place does), are all good guesses as to where you can have a bikini wax done. Any type of salon usually has a person that offers to do these.

Must I bare all: No, you do not have to bare all if you don't want to. I, however, have always "bared all" and found it more effective for several reasons. First, if you wear underwear while you are getting a wax done, it might not be as effective (all hair might not be removed) than if you were to take everything off. However, you have to remember, that these people have been doing bikini waxes for quite sometime and they have seen so many different private parts that it's not like they are going to say "Oh my gosh, wow, this is new!" (Unless you are like a hermaphrodite or something, LOL, which I don't think you are). But, if it makes you feel more comfortable to not bare all, then by all means, you certainly do not have to. They will give you that option when you get there.

How effective and for how long: This is a good question. Bikini waxes are very effective I have found as they get rid of all the hair as opposed to shaving (which I don't think I will go back to anytime soon). First of all, your hair is getting ripped off (as painful as that sounds), so it won't grow back for about another 3 weeks. Then as time goes on, you will have to keep coming back every 3 weeks, and soon it will not grow back as fast and you will only have to come back about every other month. Eventually, your hair might not even grow anymore (as the person who did mine said. She has it done so often that her hair has stopped growing as an adult).

Additional details: You may be worried about the pain. It only hurts the first time because it is a new feeling and it is painful getting sensitive hair ripped off, however it is more effective and better than shaving. The second time around, it hardly hurts at all, and it gets better with time because you get more used to it. They also put numbing stuff on it, and it is best to take a Motrin before, for a pain reliever. After they are done waxing, the only part that really sort of hurts after is the plucking that they do to get rid of any additional stray hairs. However, you may not even find that it hurts. When my friend went in the first time for hers, she cracked up as she was getting waxed, while my sister said she was neutral, and while I was in a great deal of pain (I guess because it was my first time). But I am so surprised that mine hurt more than my sister's, because her hair in general is more sensitive than mine.

In my opinion, I think it is well worth the deal, and you should definitely try it!

Good luck! ^_^

*Btw, I strongly advise you NOT to get a DIY kit. They are highly ineffective, hurt like hell, and it is always best to get it done by a professional. Again, GOOD LUCK!*

I am from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
I had done bikini wax since I was a teenager. Never did a Brazilian wax. 99.99 % of women here don´t take all the pubic hair. Hahaha. I don´t know why you, americans, call that kind " brazilian". :-) hahahaha.
Anyway, I can tell you that the first time you wax is a very painful experience. But you will feel less and less pain as the years go by. It happens because the hair becomes weak. And you should never wait a lot to wax again. Just do it once per month and it would be fine.
Nowadays I seldom wax cause 5 years ago I removed my groin and leg hair with laser. That is the best thing to do !! Now I have so few and thin hair that I only wax once per year !
But I do say bikini wax is a good choice. I did it for a lot of years.
All the best,
VB

Ok for starters - Leave a bikini wax to the professionals! I am not a waxing pro - though I do partake in the "adventure" of receiving a brazilian on a regular basis. For starters - does it hurt? Yeah, a little. It isn't horribly painful - think of the thousands of women who do it everyday! In fact, it is LESS painful the more you have it done. As for going with a traditional wax over a brazilian - well, that's just personal preference - It doesn't hurt more that's for sure - in fact the most painful area to be waxed is directly on top in the middle - where your "runway" strip starts. The rest is a piece of cake. The biggest thing to think about when choosing a waxer is experience - don't go with someone because they've waxed eyebrows before - the eyebrow is a totally different monster. Choose someone who brazilians - even if you want a regular wax...or choose someone who also gets bikini waxes - they know how a bad wax can feel. One thing I can say for certian is - once you wax you will NEVER go back. The effect is amazing! Shaving and razor burn sucks. Waxing actually slows the hairs growth over time and you have less and less to wax.

Yeah - I thought at one time I'd save a few bucks and try a bikini wax at home. NEVER AGAIN. I'm not a hairy gal (I usually only have to wax every 4-5 months) and I wax my eyebrows so I thought I'd be in like Flynn - the first strip I laid on my groin...took a deep breath and ripped with all my might - guess what happened??? NOTHING - the damn strip was still glued to my crotch and I broke all the capillaries along that delecate area. Fact: nothing kills seducing a man with a bikini wax like a black and blue cootchie. Not too pretty. Needless to say the rest of the evening was spent in tears trying to remove the the wax strip (think heavy duty duct tape) without tearing my skin off or enciting fear of torture in my neighbors and having them call the police (yeah, I'm a screamer!) - and not one #@*ING! hair was removed. I've also tried Nair, Veet, Shaving, Sugaring - nothing is a easy and has the awesome results of a great bikini wax. Be brave! Give it a try!

How To Give Yourself A Brazilian Bikini Wax?
Paton Jackson

Before you give yourself a brazilian bikini wax, be warned that
most women don't find it comfortable. Pulling out your pubic
hair and ripping them out from the roots is not the best
feeling – After all, you are dealing with your most sensitive
and intimate regions.
Make sure that you want to have a brazilian bikini wax – You
may get a standard bikini wax or a full bikini which can cause
you less damage.

The first step would be to make a long warm shower washing and
cleaning your pubic area.
Then, trim down your pubic hair with scissors or with a shaver
till it will have a length of a quarter inch.

Use a hard wax (A low temperature one) for a less painful
process. Smooth the wax with a pre-waxing oil before applying
it over your hair. This oil keeps it from sticking to the skin,
and allows the wax to be used without strips, making for a much
more comfortable experience. As the wax cools, it basically
shrink-wraps each hair and pulls it out from the root. You may
remove some stubborn hair with a set of tweezers.

Use a big mirror and move into any position you think will be
more comfort – put your legs up, on the sides or even over your
head. If you feel the pain is unbearable stop until you feel you
are ready to go on.

once you finished with the waxing process and you are happy
with your brazilian bikini wax, you should apply a soothing
lotion on your bikini area.

If done correctly, your pubic area will stay smooth for
anywhere between 14 and 25 days.
We advice you to go to a professional salon to do your first
brazilian bikini wax. After watching the therapist and feeling
the discomfort and pain you will be able to decide whether you
wish to give yourself the next brazilian wax.

I've had a bikini wax done once. Since then I've had brazillians. I prefer to have all the hair gone. I go every five weeks.

When I had the bikini wax done she used strips and it hurt but not as bad as I had imagined. The woman I see for the brazillian uses a wax that hardens and she peels the wax. There are no paper strips. This actually lessens the pain.

I pay $50 each time I go for my brazillian but where I'm at we pay less than what most people do. Price will vary on where you are and who you see.

The woman I see always provides a pair of disposable panties. I suppose it is supposed to make you feel you are being more discreet but they aren't really effective. You basically bare all. It is no big deal. My first time it was weird but since then I don't find it strange or uncomfortable at all. I also don't find it painful. If it hurt that bad then why would I return every 5 weeks?

Triangle Bikini Wax

Of course, the answer to that question is personal preference, but we have compiled answers to a few common questions that we get about getting a bikiniwax. For the purposes of this article, we are talking about a regular bikini wax, not the current popular Brazilian wax that removes about 90-95% if the hair in that area.

Bikini waxes cost about $20-$65 dollars each time they are done. We know that is a broad range, but it depends on whether you go to a spa or a salon and how revealing your bikini is, thus dictating the amount of hair you need removed. You will need to have it done every 4-6 weeks depending on how fast your hair grows. If you get it done on a regular basis, then you are looking at $240 as a low end to pay per year. Some people choose to get it done less in the winter. Just enough so that they don’t have to start all over again in the summer, but allowing a few extra weeks to pass between waxings.

People often ask us if a bakini wax is painful, if it hurts. Well, there is no way around it, yes it does hurt while it is happening, but the pain goes away quickly. Basically, hot wax is applied and then tape is used to rip the hair off. So, as you can imagine, there is some pain involved. The best thing to do is to ask your friends where they go to get a bakini wax and ask if they are satisfied with the technician who works on them. There is a woman by the name of Wafa that works at Tiba in Nashville, Tennessee that is known for her waxing expertise. She is quick, precise and it is over before you know it happened. Hopefully you can find someone like her in your area. The bikini wax area will be red for a few hours afterwards, so you wouldn’t want to have a bikiniwax and then head immediately to the pool with some friends.

Some people opt for a more expensive laser hair removal then for a bikini wax. You have to keep in mind that laser hair removal is a permanent option and you might not want to have a bikini line for the rest of your life. However, if you choose that option, it will pay for itself in a couple of years.

Hopefully this has given you an insight into the world of the bakini wax. We would encourage you to use a reputable place that specializes in spa treatments or waxing to ensure that you are getting good quality care and that they are using quality wax. A bikini wax is a good way to get you ready for swimsuit season or your warm winter vacation.

Getting a bikini wax is the most convenient way to keep your private area neat for a long time, and will eliminate the unsightly razor-burns. I have been getting waxed for years and will not go back to the razor... although, I am considerin laser (but it's really expensive).

The cost is directly related to the place you choose to go to. I recommend that you go to a licensed place, to ensure cleanliness (some questionable places will recycle wax - I am pro-recycling... but deffinetly NOT used wax... YUK!!!). Most places offer a new customer discount to lure your business, you should take advantage of this and for the first 3 months visit all the places you can until you find the person you feel most comfortable with, and then stick with them.

This person will see parts of you that not even your boyfriend has (no matter how close he's gotten), this person has to find every hair in that area to be removed.

I highly recommend going for the Brazilian bikini wax, and make sure to get the back (your buttocks area). Once you get it done this way you will find that any other version is just not good enought.

Tip 1 - do not allow anyone to use the wax that is remove with the strips... It's barbaric and outdated.

Tip 2 - make sure the wax used is one that is remove by pulling on the wax itself.

Tip 3 - ask for a brochure on the wax they are using

Tip 4 - ask them to show you were they keep the new and the wasted wax on your first visit (just to catch them off-guard in case they are environmentalists - I am being sarcastic)

Tip 5 - relax.. the first time it will hurt like hell, but the pain subsides with repetition, and the in-between times will become longer and longer, as for the hair gets weaker and grows slower.

I wish you good luck!!

Regards,

Indhy.

the costs is anywhere from , $30.00 to $100.00 . depending on where you live and what you get done . i have been doing bikini waxing for 15 years and i will tell you that it does hurt a bit . like taking a good band aid off .. they wax the bikini line , above and on the sides down the crotch area ,so that the hair isn't exposed when wearing a bikini . a Rio wax is everything but the landing strip . this is more money because more time and products are being used , then you have the Brazilian that is the entire works removed ,, nothing nil Nada ,, kaput ,, even more money and time ,,, if you know an experienced licensed cosmetologist ,( not a manicurists ), that does this go to them ...most of them are sensitive to new people and know that modesty does exist . i always have the room ready for them , and a towel that i call a modesty towel , that they can drape over their private parts to feel more comfortable . good luck

It involves lots of pain, and lots of wax. It can cost anywhere from 16$ and up (the lowest price I've seen is 16$, but it's probably not a very good job). Yes, you must bare it all. It doesn't last very long. The longest it ever lasted for me was 2 weeks.
