I had a professor at Stetson with this last name; the "c" is silent.

the people who are saying it should be pronounced Score, are relying on the english rule that c+h=k. the problem, is that this is not an english word or name for that matter. It is more than likely German, and thus follows a different rule. I'm not sure what the rule is, but i know without a doubt, that the name is pronounced like the English word Shore. I.E. sea shore
