when car is not moving the car makes a knocking noise i dont know what it is sounds like it coming out of the engine area. i have a 2001 cadillac deville also when i back up it makes a weird noise out the back exhuast pipse can anyone help me pleaseee

i use unleaded gas its too much for the plus ,also will the warranty cover the car? i have bumper to bumper warranty on it just wondering

also when im just sitting there the knocking is like a steady click...click..click...click..click like its hiting something in the engine

i got the car used at a dealership like 4 months ago and its been doing it since.i have changed the oil twice since i had it

It sounds like a rod is knocking or something else if the sound is metallic or a metal sound chances are it's a rod knocking, dropped valve or other in the head or block. Would help if someone could look at it just explaining it one can only make a guess.

Pinging is from to low grade of octane I don't believe your vehicle requires high octane.

the knock, is it a clicking noise like metal on metal? Is it an engine knock as in it idling poorly? I would do some common maintenance on it, like changing the oil, checking the transmission oil level, maybe change spark plugs and air filter. Then see if you still have the same noise. Actually all this is to try to pinpoint where and what it could be. It could be an engine problem, or transmission. Good luck!

i would take it to a where i have the warranty and hve them take a look- if it is under warranty they should not have a problem doing this

warranty? maybe! see the dealer first! could be a rocker or lifter? could even be a flywheel bolt. have the professionals check it.

could be the octane fuel you are using...could be your timing...could be a loose intake...i say just take it to a shop and get them to check it out..
