It would be worse to finance a hate group. Prohibition was a irrational period in US history and a stupid way to attempt to manipulate the population, so stupid that there was a second amendment to the Constitution to abolish the original amendment.

I see where you are going with this and the problem I have is that (if the Nazi thing is even true which I have not seen evidence yet) this was his grandfather not him. Let us also not forget that we are looking at the Nazis through the 20/20 vision of hind sight. No one was aware of the horrible things they were doing until after the war was pretty much over. Furthermore the Nazis are dead and sixty years have gone by. Same with Kennedy (I have seen documentation on this one) that was his father not him. I reasons I don't like him are based on his own actions.

George W. Bush is not saint. He has a checkered past and has made some big mistakes in his presidency but it seem as though the far left is using anything and every thing to try to besmirch the man. Lets talk about his mistakes not his grandfather's

Worse to finance the Nazi's. The Nazi's might have seemed like a good political bet before the whole world realized they were run and inspired by crazy people. If you were rich and had a corporation and wanted to influence the government in your favor, what's better than fascism?

Because drugs are a crime that hurts people only voluntarily, selling alcohol alone, is completely okay. If you are suggesting that the selling of alcohol by murderous, agressive gangs(Mafia), then of course that seems bad.

In the end, we all realized that Nazi's were bad and alcohol is inevitable.

I'll go you one further, is it worse to be a Nazi yourself or to make all of your money selling them alcohol?

Well, that all depends on the context. A lot of people financed the Nazis, but they didn't realize how bad it was. Germany was a secretive society, still is, so there was no way to know what awful events were going to transpire. Most weren't aware of the concentration camps (either because they just didn't pay attention, or turned a blind eye) until the end of WWII.
That said, during the prohibition, EVERYONE knew it was illegal. So, unless a person who was bankrolling the Nazis KNEW what they were financing, that would make bootlegging the worse crime.

Edit: Thank you for posting the source. What Prescott Bush did was wrong, if it can be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt, which it strangely has not. Now this could be due in part to a "Bush-controlled" media, but I doubt it very much. Facts are facts, and even Bush can't stop that.
Besides, it has nothing to do with the current President.
My family on my father's side owned slaves a hundred and fifty years ago. It's not something I'm proud of, but it's part of my history. I cannot be held accountable, any more than the president can, for what people did in the past.
I know you're trying to ask a question that's nonbiased, but with so many people blaming President Bush for so many different things that were not within his control, I admit it's difficult to see it that way.

I think it's worse to have funded the Nazis. They were a part of the holocaust and I think that is worse than a cocktail any day of the week.

Financing the Nazi party when you could would have actually been a very noble thing at the time. The Nazis were able to get Germany out of a horrible economic crisis and got everyone working again. Without the whole WWII thing/genocide, they were a good organization.
