seeing as someone else posted that he is with Tiscali and gets the same problem. It suggests that tiscalli has a problem..

when i was with wanadoo my connection used to drop quite often till i got in touch with bt. seems there was a lot of noise on my line, you could have the same problem.

Try this link, it is automated, you report a fault on ur line and it checks it for you, if you have a problem it will get fixed, if ok, then the problem is either ur netgear or Tiscalli has a problem.

2 solid green lights means your adsl modem is recieving power and your line is good to use.

1 green & either flashing green or yellow means ur adsl is getting power but line is not broadband enabled.

No lights or red means no power getting to modem

I used to have a NetGear modem and it did the same. You need to disconnet the power cable from the modem and reconnect it (I mean every time it disconnects) after 1 minute. Otherwise look for a better router. I switched to LinkSys wired modem RT41-BU. I don't have a problem since then.

The router or your pc may be set up to disconnect after a certain time, see if it happens at regular intervals or randomly - It could be a problem with your phoneline that is causing it if it is random.
Tiscali are also a bit crap I heard so it could be their fault.

The connection from the router to the pc may be damaged or not inserted properly or you may have forgot to put the microfilters on the phone sockets (dont forget to put one on the sky phoneline!).

Finally your router could be broken, try a friends one and see if the same thing happens.

If not any of the above maybe you should consult a more specialist forum rather than yahoo answers.

I've had this problem before.

Try disconnecting your router/modem for a couple of minutes and then plug it back in again....see if this works. It did for me once.

Is it cutting out when someone else in the house is using the telephone, mine did when my ADSL Filter stopped working.
Changed it and all is fine.

Do you have a sky box? Mine used to dial out, and drop the line on me.
Try unplugging the sky box phone line connection.
