effects of relativity and time dialation on the disk? Would it crack? What would happen? (This is an interesting thought experiment, no?)

If the perimeter is rotating at near light speed, it will experience dilation, meaning that the circumference will shrink! The closer the rotational speed approaches that of light, the smaller the disk will be. It is known that subatomic particles have 'spin' but I have never heard anybody say what their rate of spin might be, or the angular velocity. Perhaps they are spinning near the speed of light, eh?
