Well on eBay set up an account with Pay Pal. If you pay with Pay Pal and the people you order from excepts Pay Pal. You can get a refund if it's not what you order or bidder on.

You don't. Read the seller's comments from buyers. Hope for the best. The idea that ebay sellers are forced by law to follow through with their sales is false. False sellers exist in abundance on ebay. They us multiple accounts and are good at what they do. Ebay scamming is nothing new and it isn't going anywhere.

Luckily most sellers aren't scammers. Yes, scammers CAN get in trouble; however, the vast majority get away with it.

It is not ever guaranteed that an item will be real but in the example you've given, you shouldn't have to worry because the seller has been registered since march and has 100% feedback so it's not likely they're listing fake auctions.

You don't, which is why eBay is a poor choice for buying this sort of item.

Don't be taken in by the "100% positive" feedback. This person has only been an eBay member since March, and only has 18 feedbacks.

You can look at the feedback of this person... it is very good, which means other buys approve of the product. Also, as a seller on Ebay, you are stating that the product is what you say it is. As a buyer, Ebay and Paypal can help you if it is in fact fake.

Ebay has a policy about something being exactly as it is posted in the description. If doesn't say that it isn't real then it is. If when you recieve the item and it is fake than you can report it to ebay and get your money back

Check their sales record, it is there to view. There you can see complaints or compliments.

She seems to have a good record so far, so I would believe it is legit. You can also contact the seller to ask questions.
I do not buy outside of north America in case there is a problem.
Hope that helps,

When dealing with Ebay, research your seller. Know how many transactions they have had, what the percentage is of positive feedback. Also deal with sellers that have a return policy so that if you get it and are not happy, you can return it. Ebay frowns on fraud and takes action if you file a claim.

You can check the seller's rating & reviews. If its lower than 98% beware. Also you can contact the seller for more information regarding the item, eg info on shipping & insurance. stuff like that.

If you are nervous, then you can set up a pay pal account rather than paying from your credit cards.

With Ebay most people are honest. I have purchased over 100 items from Ebay and was taken by only one thief.
I learned my lesson and now I check all remarks that are posted by other buyers.
