I have an old blue 'ideal' mason jar with a hinged lid patented in 1908. it has the number 6 on the bottom. through some research I have found info (ebay) on other numbered blue 'ideal' jars but nothing on #6. Anyone have any info?

A Yahoo search for "antique mason jars" (include the quotation marks in the search box) yields 984 results. If you do the same search, and are willing to spend a little time exploring, I'm sure that you will quickly find the information you seek.

Good luck with your search.

I actually collect old bottles and jars, particularly liquor bottles. But, looking it up in my reference guide, the number 6 indicates the size.

No, sorry. I do have experience with antiques and the secret is to find your market. A "pro's" evaluation may mean nothing.
