Emotion. They sing emotional lyrics to punk music. Something Punkers are not to happy about. Not that they've got anything to be happy about 'cause happiness counts as an emotion. I think it's just a bunch of BS.

emotional.Its really more of a type of music.People think its about people who always cut themselves.but thats not always the case. They can be depressed and be labeled as emo. Or listen to emo music and be labelled as emo.Labeling sux

Emo is a style of punk that is more melodic. The singers mainly sing about feelings of love and heartbreak.
You don't need to slit your wrist. :)

Emo music is like alt. rock//modern rock [Hawthorne Heights, Thursday, ect.]. Emo people usually listen to it [I'm preppy & I do tho so w.e]. But yeah emo people are like depressed, dress in black, & cry alot.. its like a label. I feel sorry for them =(

i say no i'm sory however its simply tisturbing to peer this man or woman that's looking to sqeeze into those thin pants even skiny persons ought to watch out casue for those who put on matters that r too small for then you it makes you appear fats now if it dosn't squeeze the affection handles up over the waist then yeah they'll appear well

emo is a type of music...like taking back sunday, fall out boy.. panic! at the disco, hawthorne heights, my chemical romance, and its also a type of fashion or attitude, ppl who die their hair black and where super tight clothes and slit their wrists or think that theyre life is a black abyss b/c no one understands them

i think it is short for emotions...that is what i would think anyway...it would depend on how you used the word before a person could understand what it means...
