My carpet cleaning company also steam cleans furniture. You may want to try that if nothing else works.

Sprinkle some baking soda on it and let it sit outside for a day.
Vacuum the baking soda off and then use Febreeze.
If you really have a tough time with it go to a pet store like Petco and purchase they're odor eating spray for pets and spray it on the furniture. This is some good stuff.

You need to rent a rug doctor and the upholstery attachments and clean well, on a sunny day you can do this outside. Let air out until completely dry......then purchase some OUT, this can be bought in the pet section at Walmart and it works with a enzyme, spray cushions and all surfaces well and let dry. If odor comes back spray again.

i agree with the sitting it outside on a hot day
you can put cushions in a large garbage bag & close it around your vaccum cleaner hose and suck all the dust out (make sure the hose touches the coushin and the bag completly covers it)
you can go to a store that sells incense and candles and essential oils and buy some pure patchouli oil & dilute it in a water bottle and spray it down (that is what the hippy's used to cover the weeds smell, if it covers weed it'll cover anything & patchouli is what is used as a base in most high end perfumes

Leave it outside on a really hot sunny day. It may have been in storage and is musty. Would be healthy for you to air it out if it is.
