The movie Casablanca and the musical Rent

Casablanca is a great film that will be remembered for many more years to come.

I saw Rent, and barely remember it.

They arn't similar.
RENT is a musical that takes place in NY and deals with poverty, disease, and relationships. And Casablance is a World War 2 love story!

both are great movies though, and the music from RENT just ROCKS!

In Casablanca there is the theme of wanting someone you can't have. Humphry Bogart is in love with the married woman. And I guess you could say in RENT Mark stil likes Maureen, but he can't have her.

But really I wouldn't say that the 2 movies are similar.

the musical rent is about people who have aids and stuff and how they live life through trials and bad things and also through good things...casablanca i've never seen..

there's no comparison..casablanca is an awesome classic that will be remember forever...rent is an ok musical but nowhere near in the same league

They both are pretty tragic tales. Both involving lovers who get to spend very little time together. Love stories that can't really ever work out.
