I'd first check to see if you lost a weight off one of the tires, sounds like you have a tire out of balance.

I would say check alignment and steering components. You probably knocked something out of line when you ditched it. If your tires were out of balance, it would not shake at only about 55, you would feel it at lower speeds also.

Could be mud on the wheel, back side, or knocked the wheel weight off, or even possibly damged the rim, or tire. Or worse yet, broke the sway bar, or endlink on the front end. You had possibly hit something when it got into the ditch. Hope this helps.

Any number of things from a missing wheel weight to a bent rim, broken tire belt, bent tie rod, etc. Take it in and have it checked by a pro before you kill someone because it had a cracked ball joint or bent strut!

Get wheel balancing done in your car. It should help. If necessary, get your car serviced a little bit so that you can cut down on unnecessary vibrations.
