Yeah we used it to do facials at one salon I worked at. It works really well for black heads as well. You mix baking soda and hot water together so its kinda like watery cake frosting. Cleanse face then rub gently on face and on trouble spots. Let sit and then rotate hot towels on your face for about 5 min. Rinse tone and moisturize.

Wouldn't be without baking soda or bicarbonate of soda and safe to use. Apart from baking, it's useful in the home for cleaning, removing stains, absorbing smells. Some of the thing I use it for are - Cleaning teeth - a little on the toothbrush. Make a paste and dab on bites and stings from insects and plants. Cleaning inside and outside of oven and hob. Cleaning fridges and freezers. Cleaning the teapot. Can help get rid of indigestion, or settle an upset stomach after overindulging. Ants don't like it very much. In most cases I use as little as I can get away with, adding a little more if needed. I put a little on a saucer and use a damp cloth for cleaning. a small spoonful in the teapot topped up with hot water and rinse well after use. It doesn't take much as it's quite powerful but safer than chemical cleaners.

I know someone who used it to remove a tatoo. Was not used alone though. I would think if it is drinkable it should be ok to use as an abrasion. Shocked that ppl drink it? My family all lived well into there 80's. And they all drank it for upset stomach's. Its a sup. for when you have nothing else around like Bromo. Just add Cold water in a glass and a teaspoon of baking soda. Drink while fizzing. I can't tell you too much on the tatoo story. That was years ago.

I know it is a fairly gentle exfoliate, it can be combined with shower gel in the shower for an all over exfoliation to remove dry and dull skin. I would be careful using in on the face if you have very sensitive skin.
I believe microdermabrasion uses more of an acidity as in fruit acid to polish and renew the skin.

Yes, I have heard of this. I guess it may be anti-bacterial too. As long as it doesn't sting your skin it would be a good option, especially in a pinch!
