Can you actually go to school for that?

yes you can ... but being a car painter myself i can tell you that if your drive up to a shop you want to work at in a car u did and it looks straight and right they will probably let you show them what you can do ... a good painter and body man is hard to find .... know your stuff... ive been offered jobs at several local paintshops just when buying paint from them when they see my work .... but going to school to learn it should land you a job to but most likely under someone until you get good.

For restorations you need talent, skill and dedication.
the first your born with, the 2nd you can learn, the 3rd is a mindset.

Yes you can , body detailing course should be a great help
