It's beginning to be a trend to claim to be bisexual, not so much lesbian. Nowadays, there is more tolerance for lesbians in high school, so she's able to come out more enabled to life.

I'm 25 now and it was a HUGE trend when I was in high school. There were a few girls that were truly lesbians and just being themselves. Then there was a whole other cliche led by real lesbians also that were "recruiting" straight girls. Kind of like a lesbian army. I had no idea that went on in other schools..lol. I think the wannabe lesbians are going through a phase and just trying to fit in.

Not that I'm aware of.

BTW, if this is your sister's "claim", you should assume that she really means it. It probably wasn't easy in the slightest for her to come out. I'd recommend that you start saying "My sister is a lesbian", and leave the "claiming" part out of it...You make it seem as if you don't believe her. In the future, you may end up being right, as there is still a lot of growing up for her to do - but in the meantime, she needs to know that you believe in her.

No; claiming to be bisexual is, though. Lots of high school girls will say that they're bi to get attention from guys. I highly doubt that anyone would pretend to be homosexual just for attention, what with all of the discrimination and hatred towards them.

Just accept your sister as she is. Maybe she is faking, but even so, she's still your sister.

Yes, actually it's a phase that many current high schoolers experiment with. Don't turn her away or she will try harder and embrace it more, but don't give her too much attention because of it. Just let it play out, by the time she reaches college you will know for sure. Try you best to just accept it and move on or it will just make the situation worse.

Some people for decades have said that it is a trend, but high school is when most people figure out their sexuality. There are some people who say they are gay so that they will be left alone, I don't think it works but people will try anything. Just give her some space and let her figure it out by herself, but if she is really gay, then that is who she is and you should accept her for that.

In some cases yes but for others no. You just really need to sit down with her and have a heart to heart. You will get all the answers you need then.

No it means that she finds her self attracted to other ladies. From my understanding the trem lesbian is slung meaning: Less be in. which corilates with the actual way of sex between two of the oppiset gender

Probably. It's a fad now to kiss girls and stuff. Most girls just do it to get attention from guys. It's probably just a phase, unless she has acted different her whole life then she might really be.
