Ruth. Go to baseballreference.com and look up a term called OPS+. Then, look at Ruth's compared to the rest of the players. There is more difference between Ruth and #2 than there is between #2 and #6.

People can ask a 1000 times a day and it will be different each time. It's a personal opinion! Some say Bonds, Babe, Ty. They all were for someone! I personally like Shoeless Joe, he one a WS and gets little credit but played well. He'll never make it HOF but neither will Rose and he had awesome talent!

There is a rumor going around, Babe Ruth told Satchel Paige he, Ruth, was going to hit a home run off of Paige.

When they met on the diamond, Ruth drilled a home run off of Paige and the first one to greet Ruth when Ruth rounded 3rd base was Satchel Paige.

Other than Mickey Mantle, who was a great inspiration on and off of the diamond, I would have to say the greatest player of all time is...

George Herman 'the Babe' Ruth.

There are too many great players to just pin point one. But I'll tell you who wasn't... definitely NOT anyone from the Yankees

PS. Barry Bonds is WAY OVERRATED. He is in NO WAY the greatest player of all time. All I'm going to say is STEROIDS!!!!

barry bonds. i mean teams intentionally walk him in the 1st inning because hes so dangerous, hes the best combination of speed and power baseball has ever seen. hes the only member of the 500-500 club, or even the 400-400 club for that matter. the only guy who he really has to compete against is willie mays because mays is the definition of a 5 tool player.
