Sounds disgusting. But I hate it when people say that without actually trying it. So, I'll give it a try. Thanks.

No really. We use ketchup and sometimes ranch or mustard on our fries (I assume you don't mean potato and tortilla chips).
EDIT: How come a simple, fun question turns into an insult against Americans? "I don't think the americans are sophicated enough to have moyo on there "fries"." It is really getting old. My mom always said that if you don't have something nice to say then don't say anything. BTW, I really don't see any sophistication in putting a fatty sauce on fried potatos.

although I'm not american, I love chips and mayo, I'm a scot living in germany where they ask you Rot oder Weiß? - red or white? - in other words ketchup or mayo, you don't get anything else except that! if i'm getting chips out it's always white but if i'm at home it has to be HP (brown sauce)
and always always salt and vinegar (although that's another thing they look at you as if you were stupid for! putting vinegar on chips, they just don't do it!!!)

Apparently not - I was told it was once only popular in the South of England and no where else, but it was introduced by a Southern coming up North and opening a fast food stall and introducing it! It's well fit though, especially when it's mayo that's similar to the type you get on McChicken sandwiches!! Ummmmmmmmm

Some years ago at a pub lunch with colleagues from work, one of the girls put mayo on her chips, yuk I said, then remembered my dear ole dad who always said, "don't say you don't like something until you've tried it" - so try it I did, and I had to eat my words - I love mayo on my chips now, mmmmmm, beautiful
Oh Sorry - I'm from England UK

Mayonnaise on chips/with chips.......mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I believe that the French invented it.
Another thing to do with chips is 'cheesy chips' which is nice.
I have a friend and I know of an actress who both like to dip/stick Fries (from MacDonalds) in Ice-Cream.
Also another great thing is Curry Sauce & Chips.
Although I haven't had it for a while I do like a good old Battered Mars Bar...invented by the Cornish.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM all this talk about food.......................
:-)

Bet your life they do, they also put more chips on chips on chips.First time I saw this was in Calais and this French chic bought a bag of chips, she got out a napkin, sat down and ate it with such pleasure, together with a glass of wine. She really made such a meal of it, I wonder what she would do if I gave her haggis, neeps and chips!!! Best way to make chips, par fry dry potatoes, drain and dry again, then plunge in to hot hot fat. You will die and go to chippie heaven. Enjoy with salt and vinegar.
