Chinese ghost day today. My new employee met the previous owner of my store down in the basement this morning. He came upstairs and asked me who is Mike? I told him Mike was the previous owner here who died of cancer around three years ago. His face turned paled and he quietly continued to work. I'm thinking most ghosts usually take decades to resurface. Am I wrong or is he bullshitting me.

I am a ghost hunter and here is my take on your question. It depends on how the person died. If the person died catastophically (i.e car crash, gun shot or other accident where death was intantaneous) it can be immediately. Since some ghost don't know that they are dead yet or do not believe. Sometimes they are in what is called "visitation". In other words they have crossed over and gone to the "great beyond" but decide to come back anyway or are called back by a loved one who still greives and that energy keeps them returning.
As you can see the time is varied as the ghosts themselves. It can also be that "mike" has come back to work, especially if he love his job and had strong ties to it. It could of also been what is termed "residual haunting" that is where a scene plays out over and over again like an endless loop of a video tape. Think, did Mike always go to the basement everyday for something?

Ghosts can appear as soon as they soul leaves the body after death. Ghosts are spirits that do not move on after death, whether it is because they have some sort of unfinished business or they do not realize that they have passed on. Spirits however can take longer to appear, because they are souls that have crossed over and they may or may not need to have a period of readjustment before they are able to come back for visits. Spirits appear to be floating or hovering off the ground while ghosts appear to be just as you and I. Probably he was just checking in on his old business, because of the connection he had with it while he was here. If he comes again, strike up a conversation!

i had a dear friend die, and i was putting away his medicine about 10 mins. after he pasted and i was close to the bed. my back was to him and I swear that he grabbed my jeans. He was a dirty old man and proud of it. Another friend saw me jump, and asked what happened, when I told him he started laughing. While my friend was waiting for the passing moment we had a hard time making the remote for the TV to work. But later when my other friend tried to show me what happened and said see it will not work. then he laid it down on the counter and it started to flash that it's buttons were being pushed. And we just started laughing cuz we knew that our friend was messing with us. so it can be immediate. I didn't know this was ghost day that is so cool that ghost are shown that kind of respect. You learn something new everyday!

I am under the understanding that a "ghost" is the persons energy ..... that leaves the body the moment a person is dead. My guess would be that a "ghost" can resurface as you say as soon as the persons body dies.

You can only become a ghost if you die before you were able to fulfill the purpose that God put you on Earth for. He sends you back in a body of ectoplasm until you complete His predetermined plan for you. Then He sends you wherever you're meant to go in the afterlife.

Well it depents on the ghost. some take longer. Beacuse they cannot leave there old body behind. others it is instatinus. and most are some where in the middle.

Ghosts are not real... They are figments of the imagination put there by the DEVIL (yes i said it you sacreligious idiots) just to keep himself entertained and what not.. It makes people focus on that more than God and fall away from him... SO GHOSTS AREN'T REAL... Geez.... Bunch of sissies.... lol !RJ!
