uh oh
a pad ON the bathing suit?? umm no, you wear it inside of it lol
ummmm this is hard for me to answer because its never happened to me before...(and if it did, i just avoided water at all costs)
i would say use a tampon but since its your first time that wouldnt be a good idea (u should wait till youre a lil older maybe and you are used to the whol "period thing".....im 18 and i dont like wearing them tho)
i really dont know what to tell, you can wear a bathing suit with board shorts, but its still risky - esp since a lot of water slides end in a pool of water of some sort....maybe try to stick to the rides that come with a tube and dont neccesarily end up in a big pool....at least thats what i would do. But another problem is if the pad gets wet, then it might loose its stickyness and will move around...uck. On the other hand, if its a good quality pad the water will be absorbed instead (but then over a time it will get heavy)....so i guess you can do what you said - i wouldnt just wear a bathing suit cuz sometimes people can tell youre wearing a pad, esp if it has wigs.
Just try to have fun, and if something embarresing happens then just laugh it off! Girls cant help it if they get periods!! After all, mankind wouldnt exist without us.

The thing with pads is as they absorb water they bloat up, which looks weird down there on a girl. If you're not bleeding much I would get the really tiny 'panty liner' pads - change frequently, these are meant to be worn w/ a tampon but are the smallest and least noticable in your situation. I didn't start wearing tampons till I was 18ish and I never had a problem in the water for some reason. Also, your first period will probably be light.

I'm sure some will tell you to wear a tampon - if you're pretty young I don't think it's good for your body.

Here's what I would do! If I were you, I would wear a tampon...but if you aren't comfortable with that, then I would put the pad on the bathingsuit bottoms. Just remember to change it...otherwise...gross! Then, I would wear boardshorts...no one will know! Also...don't forget Tylenol...for those major cramps! Best of luck to you and have fun at the water park!

You don't want the pad to wash out of your bathing suit in front of everyone. That happened to me when I was twelve at the beach. Very embarrassing, but I was in the deep part, so not many people so. You need to wear a tampon, there's not other way. Blood does wash out of bathing suits, but you don't want to leave a little puddle of blood when you're sitting down if you aren't wearing anything. Most girls don't begin using tampons during their first periods, but if going to the water park is so important, get used to them.

Have you ever tried tampons? Because, if you are going on a water trip, tampons are good for things like that. Trust me on experience here, you do not want to walk around knowing that your pad is fill with blood and water! You are going to feel like you are wearing a diaper. And, you are going to feel REALLY uncomfortable. So, I suggest you get Tampax Pearl, because they are really easy to insert as well. And, bring as many as you can (or, think you need). Make sure when you insert that you do not feel it. You see, that is the key. If you fel it, that means you did not put it in right. You insert it in, carefully, and, when you don't feel it, and you know it is up there, then, you did it right.
Oh, and wear dark shorts, just in case.

No sweetie, you shouldn't wear a pad, it will only dissolve, become soggy and heavy, fall off, or all of these! Use a tampon, small to medium sized, practice putting it in as directed. You can tell if you've put it in correctly if you CAN'T feel it very much and isn't painful at all or when changing positions from sitting, lying down, or standing. Change when it becomes full and or every 5-8 hours to avoid infection.

No. The water will be absorbed into the pad and there will be no place for your menstrual blood to go. It is best to wear a tampon and dark shorts. If you don't want to use a tampon, then I would suggest going another time, or not going on water rides. Sorry-it's life.

If you're going to be in the water you should wear a tampon. Tampons are worn inside the body so you don't have to worry about a soggy pad in your pants....tampons are better on protection...& they won't accidently be removed while flying down water slides. I'd probably wear the board shorts to just in case. Good luck & try to have fun!

This is a job for a tampon.

Normally, tampons are not so good, they can be forgotten and then the bacteria builds up and that can cause toxic shock syndrome. BUT, if you want to have a busy, swimming day and change the tampon properly, it is the best thing to use!

O.B. brand tampons have no applicator and are the best fit, because you have to put it in with your fingers ... but many people prefer applicators as it is hard to see what your doing down there. The applicator types are less leak-proof because the tampon is not so precisely placed.

hope this helps!

No, you should probably wear a tampon, if that's OK with your mom. Many mothers think they are "inappropriate" for young girls, although if mothers remember when they were girls . . . anyway, talk to her about it. If she says no, then stay out of the water rides. As I recall, there's still plenty to do at Dorney Park -- there's some OLD, OLD memories in that place! (I'm 59.)
