I'm building a guitar and I need the pros and cons of each.

nitro cellulose is light and lets the guitar breath/vibrate more. Also, nitro cellulose is easier to apply, with time and cleanliness being the major factor in a good finish.

Polyurethane is a more durable finish. However, with polyurethane you need a curing lamp, usually a UV type light, to 'set' the finish. This is a very difficult finish to do correctly without a professional humidity controlled type paint booth.

Also, I hate to sound like a sales agent, but check out the link below. I haven't tried it, but I've read good reviews.

Good luck.

I always thought it'd be cool to make a guitar out of solid steel. That'd be some Heavy Metal and you could REALLY trash some speakers with it! LOLOL
