Is Halo the most overrated game of all time? What's the big deal?

So I finally got a chance to play Halo. After all of the hype, I get a game that, halfway through, turns around and has you play the same levels but in reverse order. Pretty much all of the weapons possible are available in the first level. The game even ends with the cliched "get to the escape pod before the time runs out" level.

Sure, the graphics are undeniably gorgeous and multiplayer is fun. But it is not worth all of the hype surrounding the franchise. I have little interest in playing Halo 2 or any other future sequel.

Halo 1 may be a little overrated, but Halo 2 definitely isn't. It has great graphics, a much harder campaign than in Halo 1 (not to mention that every level is different), and an excellent multiplayer (especially online). You may not have liked Halo 1, but Halo 2 is better.
