It's better for you if you spread it out during the day.

I have to try and drink that much because of some medication I take, and all my doctors have said to spread it out because it's easier on your kidneys that way, and it also keeps you hydrated better if you drink it a bit at a time.

Don't drink too much in the evenings--0.5 liters shouldn't be too bad, but it will make you pee a lot, and you don't want to have to get up several times during the night to use the bathroom.

Well, it's pretty impossible to drink 2 liters of water all at once, I think stomachs are generally not made that big. Just drink it over the course of the day, carry a liter bottle around with you and you'll get it all in.

Space it out over the day. Your body can only absorb a certain amount at a time, and you'd just pee out the extra.

HOWEVER: It's possible to lose a lot of nutrients if you drink too much water all at once. You can even poison yourself by drinking way too much water:

That's an awful lot of water to drink at one time. Spread it out throughout the day so it will be available for your body to use when it needs it.

Drinking two litres at once puts alot of pressure on your kidneys, spacing it out over the day is much better.

It's better to spread it out. The easiest way is to always have a bottle of water handy, just keep sipping. You won't even notice you're doing it after a while.

I don't think it really matters, but think about it, your stomach is the size of your fist, do you really think drinking 2 litres of water at once is going to be good for it? I personally would break it up into intervals.

Just drink it throughout the day as needed. Whenever you're thirsty, reach for water instead of soda or whatever else you drink.
