I have a friend who has this habbit of telling people a story that happened to me and passing it off as his own when Im sitting right in front of him.....is he just confused or is he trying to piss me off??
I never say anything as I feel it would make me look pathetic to object to his story, but he seems to get credit for things i have done?????

Yeh I have a friend who does this also. However he then takes it to the next level and preaches wisdom from it. I love winding him up and adding extra information like the date and time it happened to you that always gets them. TYry it next time or relate to a story that is connected to him/her the next time they are telling it, if they are not too clever, you can then add the rest peeople will recognise the story and they will be the ones looking pathetic. Cheer up hun, these pests are everywhere....

Yes I do have a friend who did that to me all the time, it is so damn annoying isn't it, I had to ask her why she did it and her answer was, oh sorry didn't realise I was, she is a very insecure person at the best of times and she pushed herself into the limelight so much just to be popular, the thing was when she suddenly stopped been so pushy and letting all of us tell things our way she suddenly realised she was popular with all of us, just have a word with him but not nastily, do it in a nice way and hopefully your friend will see how annoying he is becoming and settle down and just be himself and realise too he is popular.

I wouldn't say anything to him in front of other people, but I would tell him privately that you don't appreciate him using your life stories as his own.

That just shows how jealous this person is, he/she must really like your life and is very like i said, jealous of you, don't let him take credit of what you've done! he is an embarrasment, by taking your life and trying to pass it on as his/her own!

my brother does this all the time, they feel like they have bored the person they are talking to and need to make themself look interesting, tell your friend, that if he tells your story again, that you'll tell a worse one about him when hes not around, or drop kick him and say "no one Funks with me, and no one funks with Chuck Norris"

he is obviously jealous of you, you can say something about it, and make him look stupid...or say something so just you and him know what your talking about...without completely embarrassing him like "wow that same exact thing happened to me!" I guess its kind of a compliment though..that someone likes your life so much they take your stories!

he cant be much of a mate if he is taking credit for things that you did.
i suggest that you ditch him and find a true friend.

Sounds to me he has a boring life and is a bit jealous of yours. You should be flattered.
